Down the lane, North Street, is a straight mile long walk to the River Hertford and the Cut (Malton and Yedingham drainage cut)
But if you take the left fork before, past the natural stream and meander past the new fishing venue - Idle Lake where wide variety of birds have been observed, you will eventually join a public pathway that leads you to the 8000 BC archeological site Carr Star. A significant site studied by Cambridge University in the past few years.
A new project named The Wetlands is in the pipeline - for nature conservation within the river area.
The Wolds Way walk is approximately one mile away at Folkton Brow.
Folkton is a pretty village one miles walk along the A1039 towards Filey. Here you will find St. Johns Church. Service times are in the parish magazine.
The Foxhound Inn is only a three minute walk away, who also offer evening meals.
